Welcome International Traveller

We are delighted to welcome guests from all over the world to our bespoke holiday cottages and seafront apartments. Westward Ho! has strong historic links with America, Spain, France, Australia, New Zealand and beyond, and continues to attract international travellers from far and wide. Owners Kathy and Chris spent many years travelling in the hospitality industry before they launched Westward Living, so they understand how important it is to be well informed on where you’re going, how to get there and what to take with you.

Whether you’re touring the country, visiting as a wedding guest or just taking a break, we’ll go out of our way to make sure you have an unforgettable stay in Westward Ho!. With its spectacular beaches, surf, sunsets and clifftop walks, it’s no wonder we attract guests from every corner of the globe. Just three hours from London, we’re easy to reach despite having remained well off the beaten track.

The North Devon coast is undoubtedly one of the UK’s most beautiful, with secluded, rocky coves and sweeping sandy bays, like award-winning Westward Ho!. If you like walking, we’re right on the South West Coast Path, which meanders across towering clifftops with breathtaking sea views and the chance to spot dolphins and basking sharks. For golfers, the UK’s oldest links course is just down the road. North Devon is also the home of Tarka the Otter, from the celebrated novel by Henry Williamson.

Wherever you have travelled from, don’t leave North Devon without enjoying a traditional cream tea, served in village tearooms scattered across this unspoiled region. The Appledore book festival welcomes guests from all over the world every year, while many famous authors and literature lovers are drawn to Westward Ho!, which inspired Charles Kingsley and Rudyard Kipling. A few miles from our accommodation, the ancient market town of Bideford is full of historical heritage, and a little further, on the other side of the Cornish border, an incredible rainforest environment has been created on the site of a former clay pit at the Eden project.

Westward Ho! is the perfect place to unwind during your time in the UK. Here are a few things to bear in mind before departing for your holiday in North Devon:
