Accessible Holiday Cottages in Westward Ho!, North Devon
At Westward Living we want to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible and are committed to providing suitable access to all our guests, whatever their individual access needs. We are proud to offer an inclusive holiday experience as much as we possibly can. We aim to accurately describe our facilities and services to give you the confidence to select the right self-catering cottage to suite your specific requirements. If you have any specific requirements that will make your holiday even more special, please speak to us and we will be delighted to help.

We are able to cater to almost all dietary requirements and have thought about our guests needs. If you would feel more comfortable with hypoallergenic pillows, a property with wider doors, or would prefer us to recommend a cottage with colour contrasting, just ask. We are able to offer non WIFI room options for our guests who are concerned about electro sensitivity. We are fully aware of the challenges that families can sometimes face when booking a holiday or short break away, especially when having to consider the needs of others, we recognise that accessibility covers so many needs including (but not limited to) families with hearing loss, visual or mental impairment, multigenerational families with young children.

We are very proud that our Westward Living family invest heavily into team training, anyone who answers the phone will have had recent Tourism for All and Purple Angel training, and if we don’t know the answer to your query we will find out. We are close by to some fantastic beaches and coastal footpaths which are wheelchair friendly, if you have any specific requests or would like some first-hand knowledge about any nearby attractions and places to eat which are accessible and dog friendly, please give us a call on 01237 238967 or email us here. The whole family can enjoy a stay and there is no need to leave your four legged friend at home as assistance dogs are welcome in all our self-catering holiday cottages, however please let us know if you will be travelling with an assistance dog so we can let you know which cottages will be a best match. Full access guidelines can be found on each cottage description page, please let us know if you would prefer a hard copy to be posted to you.

What is an increased-access property?

Our cottages with increased accessibility have features that make them suitable for people with a wide range of requirements, from those who find stairs problematic to those who require full wheelchair access. Features include single story cottages with wetrooms, ramp access, wide corridors and doorways, moveable and static shower chair and grab rails, stair gates and parking at the entrance.  All our cottages are unique so please ask us the best one to suit your needs. Our cottages do not have hoists in the bedrooms or for the hot tubs, however you are welcome to bring one to use.

accessible beaches

We are spoilt for choice with great places to explore. Many local beaches have disabled toilet facilities and ramp access. Check out our beach page for more information or contact us.

food intolerances

Having an allergy does not mean you have to miss out on our delicious Westward Living Devonshire cream tea. Just let us know before your arrival and we'll take care of the rest.

assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in all our cottages.  We provide complimentary bowls, beds and welcome gifts.  We have plenty of land for them to explore. We also have a selection of dog friendly properties where non-registered assistance dogs are welcome at a small surcharge.

Mobility aids

There is no need to pack the kitchen sink when visiting us, there are many local specialist companies who are able to hire mobility aids such as scooters, wheelchairs, hoists and recliners. Contact us for more details.

We have been awarded the Official COVID-19 secure mark for our high standards in cleaning.
