Christmas is a distant memory and the Easter holidays are rapidly approaching. Spring is a magical season on the North Devon coast, and a great time for a family break by the sea. Our luxury holiday cottages have been designed with family holidays in mind. Surrounded by gently rolling countryside on our peaceful farm, they are the perfect place for visitors of all ages to unwind, with loads of space for kids to explore. You can even collect fresh eggs for a family breakfast, and the Easter Bunny will be paying us a special visit over the holidays this year.
For lazy evenings and rainy days, our accommodation is equipped with comfy sofas and wood-burning stoves – the perfect setting for board games or an evening in front of a good film. Barbecues, hot tubs and terraces make our cottages ideal for long, sunny dinners as the weather warms up.
We have a fabulous range of family cottages to suit groups of all sizes, and we’ll be happy to help if you have any special requirements for your trip. We are also excited to announce that our brand new chillout barn is now open for you to enjoy during your stay. Here are a couple of reasons guests keep returning to Westward Living for their family holidays in Devon.
Sandy Blue Flag Beach on Your Doorstep
All our accommodation is a stone’s throw from Westward Ho! Beach, which holds the Blue Flag Award for its water quality and clean, safe environment. With more than two miles of pristine, sandy shore, the beach is perfectly suited to family breaks. Whether you want to build sandcastles, fly a kite or take a bracing swim in sea, a safer, more idyllic location would be hard to imagine. Westward Ho! is a popular surf spot, with brilliant waves for surfers of all ages and abilities. There are a number of excellent surf schools right on the beach, so why not book a lesson for the whole family and learn to catch your first wave together?
Family Attractions in North Devon
Our family accommodation in Westward Ho! is near North Devon’s top attractions, many of which celebrate spring with chocolate egg hunts and visits from the Easter bunny. A short drive up the road from Westward Ho! The Big Sheep is one of the region’s most exciting family attractions with rides, playgrounds, sheepdog trials, newborn lambs and sheep races. The Big Sheep’s Easter Eggstravaganza takes place from March 30 to April 15, with more than 30,000 chocolate eggs for kids to hunt for.
Another popular Easter event takes place in the picturesque fishing village of Clovelly, a few miles west of Westward Ho!. From March 30 to April 13, Clovelly hosts a brilliant treasure hunt through the village’s cobbled lanes, parkland and harbour, with clues for children to find hidden chicks and win an Easter egg.
