Our grounds are located within 60 acres within an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) over looking the Atlantic Ocean, Lundy Island, Saunton Sands and Bideford Bay.
North Devon is the perfect county in the UK to discover the beauty of the natural environment on horseback, Where else can boast two National Parks, five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, twelve estuaries punctuating over 400 km of coastline, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and parts of two World Heritage Sites, including England’s first natural Site?
We welcome horses and dogs as well have humans here at Westward Living. We have a range of self-catering holiday cottages within the grounds sleeping between 2 and 8 guests. Farrier’s cottagesleeps 6 guests with three large en suite bedrooms, this wonderful 5 star property as a private paddock including field shelter, adjacent to the garden where you are welcome to bring your own horse at a small fee of £100 per week, which includes hay and straw bedding. Other horse friendly properties at Westward Living are Gallops(sleeps 8) Furlong(Sleeps 8) and Kala’s cottage(sleeps 2)
If you would like a personal tour of our retired ex race horses during your stay please let us know and will be happy to introduce you to the residents, for racing fans you may recognise some of them!
