Recently awarded a four-star gold rating under the Visit England Award Scheme, the cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. Two bedrooms, one double or twin and a smaller room with bunk beds offer luxurious relaxing spaces with Egyptian cotton bedding. The lounge area has comfy three-seater sofa, armchair and an LCD TV, perfect for unwinding in after a day of exploring North Devon's coast and countryside. With an electric wood-burner effect fire, the cottage stays cosy all-year round.

Outside, Warm Winter Cottage takes advantage of its rural location and spectacular views. The cottage's intimate and enclosed patio offers lovely space to relax in the sunshine. Cook a tasty lunch on the barbecue and spend some quality family time outside. The kitchen window overlooks the chefs herb garden; feel free to pick fresh herbs throughout your stay.

Here at Duckhaven Stud, we encourage families to enjoy the rural North Devon lifestyle. Our resident race horses and friendly farm animals are all waiting to meet you!. Our beautiful free-range hens provide delicious eggs every morning, so why not collect a few in the morning for breakfast?

The beauty of staying at Duckhaven Stud is your proximity to the coast. Just one mile away, Westward Ho!'s two-mile sandy beach is the perfect spot for a day by the sea. Jump in the water with a body board or spend the day building spectacular sand castles. Surfers can hire boards and wetsuits at the beach, or if you're eager to learn, you can even book a lesson at the surf school. If you're looking for a bite to eat, the village is packed with family-friendly restaurants and tearooms.

Families will love visiting North Devon's top attractions. The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are very close by and are suitable for all weathers. Alternatively, our play barn is hugely popular! Feel free to play table football, table tennis, pool and basketball, or jump in the heated indoor swimming pool between April and September.

Introduction

A single storey cottage located on a stud farm in Westward Ho!, with a floor space of 100 square meters with outside patio area and BBQ. Open plan lounge / dining / kitchen area with two bedrooms, one being a double with the other having bunk beds and family a bathroom.

 

Pre-Arrival

•      Cottage is located on a stud farm with a single track leading to front door

•      Space for unloading and loading is situated outside the front door. Parking of vehicle 35 meters from cottage

•      Guests are able to preorder shopping but must be present to accept delivery

•      Information is given to all guests prior to arrival on local suppliers

•      Cottage is 100 meters from Bideford Bus route no 16 which operates hourly, with connection to national bus and rail links

•      Cottage is easily accessible for taxis

•      Cottage is 12 miles from nearest train station at Barnstaple

•      Owners will assist with carrying luggage on arrival and departure, if required

 

Key Collection, Welcome and Car Parking

•     Key collection is from the reception building during offices hours (Mon-Fri 9-5:30pm) For arrivals outside of office hours please call the office on 01237 238967 or 24-hour guest phone 07807 096997 to make suitable arrangements. For guests without phone please knock on door at main farm house “Duckhaven Stud” upon arrival.

•      Second single bedroom with adult size bunk beds and built in wardrobe.

•      Chest of drawers and bedside table with lamp.

 

 

Bathrooms, Shower-rooms and Toilets

•      Family bathroom comprising of wc, wash basin bath with shower over.

Gas fired central hearing with radiators throughout with wall-mounted controls

Patio area with outside furniture made of wicker including, 2 person bench, table and chairs and gas bbq. There is a small step to access patio area, patio located at front entrance

•      60 acres of coastal farm land rugged terrain

•      Access to south west coastal foot path from farm, steep incline as was once used to train horses

•      Use of mule (buggy) for trips over the grounds for guests with limited mobility

•      Sand school for schooling horses

•      Children’s play area
