Our cottages are located within the grounds of an ex working thoroughbred racing yard which was called Duckhaven Stud. With the exception of Paddocks, Furlong and the Gallops, all our cottages are named after winning horses were trained and bred by Alan Smith who lives in the main house.
Please do not approach the horses, as with all animals, when startled they can be dangerous. The horses have a monitored diet, and it is very important that guests do not feed them, but they do love having their photos taken.A map of our grounds is located in your guest book to assist you during your stay.Guests arefree to wander through the grounds as they wish, but please note that guests should not approach the horses, as with all animals, when surprised, they can be dangerous.
We have many glorious horses residing at Duckhaven-you may even spot a famous face or two.
If you would like to have a beach ride during your stay with us, we recommend Follyfoot Equestrian Centre who are located just behind Northam Burrows close to the beach.
Wow Kala’s cottage is amazing, peace and tranquility with amazing views. The cottage it’s self is beautiful, a sense of that home from home feeling
We got married here last year and returned this summer for our first anniversary. I can not justify in words how wonderful this place is.
We loved our stay, the cottage has stylish decor and furnishings and its right on the South West Coastal footpath with wonderful views, great for early morning and late evening walks to see the sunrise and sunset.
A totally relaxing and romantic stay, we loved the hot tub and views. It was so peaceful and perfect, just what we needed
