Our luxury Westward Living  self-catering cottagesand seafront apartmentsaren’t only for week or fortnight-long holidays. You can also book all our accommodation for a mid-week mini-break. Due to late availability, we have great deals on Monday-to-Friday holidays. And if you need another excuse for an impromptu trip to the North Devon coast, the traffic is much quieter during the week! If you want to make the most of your time in Westward Ho! we’ll be delighted to help you plan your itinerary. Or perhaps all you want to do is while away your days on our Blue Flag beach. Mini-breaks offer great flexibility, too. Why not divide your stay with Monday to Friday in one of our beautifully presented cottages followed by a weekend in a seafront apartment with spectacular views across the Atlantic? All our self-catering accommodation is well-equipped, so there’s no need to pack the kitchen sink. We’re also easy to get to by car, train or plane – so taking an impulsive break by the ocean has never been simpler. Check out our website for the latest deals on mid-week bookings.

And here are a few more reasons why Westward Ho! is a great choice for a mini-break.

North Devon’s Only Blue Flag Beach on Your Doorstep

Westward Ho! is the only beach in North Devon to have been awarded the Blue Flag – only given to the cleanest, safest beaches. This glorious stretch of golden sand is more than two miles long, making it a paradise for sunbathing, building sandcastles, swimming and surfing. Backed by a unique pebble ridge and the wild dunes and grasslands of Northam Burrows Country Park, it’s also an amazing spot for long walks along the shore and watching the sunset.

Explore the Southwest Coast Path

At 630 miles the Southwest Coast Pathis Britain’s longest National Trail. Walking the entire path during your mini-break might be a little unrealistic, but you can explore one of its most spectacular sections within a few miles of our accommodation. The path runs from our grounds right through Westward Ho! with stunning views across Bideford Bay, towards Lundy Island. Our cottagesand apartmentsare surrounded by towering cliffs, secret, rocky coves and fishing villages, so they are ideal if you have limited time to discover North Devon’s incredible scenery.

Great Food and Drink in Westward Ho! Village

Supermarket delivery can be easily arranged if you don’t want the hassle of shopping during your mini-break. But if you fancy wandering into the village, you will find an excellent variety of artisan delis selling fresh, local produce for your breakfasts and barbecues. For a fairly small place, Westward Ho! is also packed with great places to eat and drink. The Beach Bar Dineris a lively beach front family restaurant and pub serving delicious meals and a selection of local ciders and ales. Tea on the Green is a must for Devon cream teas and homemade cakes. And Moran’s is a relaxed restaurant serving a mix of Thai and British food prepared with the finest local ingredients.

We have been awarded the Official COVID-19 secure mark for our high standards in cleaning.
