Keeping our guests safe through 2022 and beyond

As a local business with family at the heart of everything that we do, here at Westward Living we do our best to make life a little bit better for everyone. The covid-19 pandemic has increased this need to care for all family members and over the last couple of years we had to make some tough decisions to protect everyone – especially our wonderful parents living on site, who, although formidable forces, are medically vulnerable.

In 2020 we introduced a series of safety measures that went above and beyond government recommendations to allow us and our guests to have complete peace of mind. Many of these measures will stay in place as they are not just safer, but they also offer a better holiday experience for our valued guests of all ages.  This includes booking private play sessions in the play barn rather than having it open to all guests all of the time. As well as promoting social distancing, this system allows a group of cottages to enjoy play time together and lets you plan your day accordingly. Guests can prebook up to one hour per cottage per day prior to their arrival, but once you arrive you can book additional play hours according to availability. We feel that this system is the fairest way to let all guests make the most of our lovely family friendly play barn.

As far as cleanliness goes, hand sanitizer stations will remain throughout the complex. Our deep cleansing processes will stay in place; this means that every cottage will be deep cleaned after each visit but does also mean that we are, regretfully, unable to offer flexibility on our 4 O’clock check in or 10 O’clock check out times.

Of course, you don’t get much more covid safe than a self-catering holiday cottage in Devon with two miles of beach on your doorstep, 60 acres of private land and your own five-star facilities to enjoy. If guests do have any concerns, we ask them to let us know; likewise, we encourage all of our guests to exercise caution and offer the same level of consideration to others that they would like to receive.

In order to keep our families and yours safe, all of our staff members, without exception, are triple jabbed and will be required to adhere to any future recommended vaccination programmes if they wish to remain working with us.  What’s more, if any of our team test positive for covid we will pay them to stay at home until it is safe, regardless of current recommendations regarding isolation.

We know that that the past two years have been incredibly hard for so many people and that everyone needs a holiday more than ever! We want every guest to have a relaxing holiday and we firmly believe that the best way to ensure a stress-free break is to keep everyone safe, healthy and happy. If you have any questions about our safety measures or would like to find out about our cottage availability, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We have been awarded the Official COVID-19 secure mark for our high standards in cleaning.
