Sunday 8th December Christmas Lights in Clovelly - only 10 miles from Westward Living Holiday Cottages
A visit to Clovelly during December is unforgettable. This picturesque fishing village—often celebrated as Britain’s most Instagram able—puts on a spectacular display of Christmas lights along its cobbled streets. Join the celebration on Sunday, December 8th, when Clovelly hosts a magical Christmas Lights event in aid of the RNLI. Starting at 4 p.m., the festivities include a brass band procession, Christmas carols, a hog roast, and mulled wine. As the village and harbour light up, a grand finale of fireworks concludes the evening. While dogs can feel uneasy with the fireworks, you can arrange for a local dog-sitting service, Paws and Claws, to ensure your pets stay cozy in the comfort of your cottage.
Sunday 16th December 2025 - Victorian Carol Service at RHS Rosemoor
On December 15th, RHS Rosemoor in Great Torrington (just 10 miles from Westward Living) hosts a festive Victorian Carol Service. Enjoy complimentary mulled wine and mince pies before settling in for an afternoon of carol singing with The Exmoor Carollers. It’s a beautiful tradition and includes admission to Rosemoor’s winter gardens—a truly special way to get into the holiday spirit.
